Senior Spotlight

Sadie Snelling Spotlight

By: Grace O’Neal

Sadie Tatum Snelling is a member of the senior Class of 2020.

Snelling is an active member of FFA and Student Council. She was a cheer captain and cheered for both football and basketball. She also served as the fifth and sixth grade cheer coach.

One of her favorite memories during her time at Knox County is traveling to National Convention for FFA as a freshman. She said that it was a good experience, because she met kids from several different schools and the group was able to visit different places during their time there. Snelling shares that her favorite teacher would have to be Mrs. Mallett, her ag teacher, because she feels as though she can talk to Mallett about anything and she will not be judged, and Mallett would not discuss what they talked about with anyone else.

Snelling describes herself as hardworking, responsible, and outgoing. She is most proud of her ability to maintain good grades in school while being involved in numerous school activities and working four jobs outside of school. Her father and grandmother have been the most influential people in her life, because even when things get difficult, they always find a positive way to get out of it, and they never give up and have a good attitude towards everything.

Snelling plans to attend Blessing-Riemen College of Nursing through Culver-Stockton College or Quincy University and earn her bachelor of science in nursing. In ten years, Snelling said that she can see herself being graduated from nursing school with her BSN and working at a hospital as either a RN or a nursing director.
