Knox County R-I School District is proud to announce that Keli Huchteman, a Knox Co. High School
teacher, has been named one of the 2025-2026 Northeast Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year
Finalists. Ms. Huchteman has been teaching for 15 years, the last 4 in her current position as a 7 th -12 th
Grade Family Consumer Sciences Teacher.
Principal Becky Barnhill states "Mrs. Huchteman is a true leader in the world of Family and Consumer Sciences. The real-world skills and knowledge she shares with her students are top tier. Her innovative approach in the classroom inspires creativity, and her collaboration with other classes and grade levels allows all of our students to benefit from her expertise."
The Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year award is part of the Missouri Teacher of the Year program,
sponsored by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The Missouri Teacher of
the Year program recognizes the efforts of effective teachers in providing a quality education to their
students. Preparing, developing, and supporting effective educators is one of DESE’s primary goals.
