Lilah James
BY GRAYSON MILLER, ENN REPORTER
Lilah Jane James is a member of the 2026 senior class. She is the daughter of Ashley and Casie James of Baring. During her time at Knox County, Lilah participated in track & field, Student Council, the National FFA Organization, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and National Honor Society (NHS).
Throughout high school, Lilah’s favorite teacher was Mrs. Becca Dobrinske, Ag Education Teacher, because “She taught me so many new things that expanded my knowledge about agriculture and FFA. She was also very kind and funny during any class that I had with her.” After graduation, Lilah looks forward to getting away from home and using the opportunity to explore and experience new things.
“Strong-willed, dedicated, and demonstrating leadership” are a few ways Lilah uses to describe herself. She also shared that Mrs. Dobrinske, Karisha and Katherine Devlin, her parents and grandparents are the most influential people in her life because they always teach her how to see the best possible outcome in a situation and encourage her in all of her endeavors. Outside of school, Lilah enjoyed showing horses and cattle, working on the family farm and spending time with her family.
Lilah’s future plans are to attend Northeastern A&M in Miami, Okla., for two years to get a certificate or associate’s degree in Equine & Ranch Management and then transfer to Oklahoma State University to get her degree in Agribusiness. In 10 years, Lilah sees herself living on a “big ol’ cattle ranch and being married.”
