BY JILLIAN ROBERTSON, ENN REPORTER
Alana Eve McCarty is a member of the 2026 graduating class at Knox County R-1 High School. Alana is the daughter of the late Kris and Kerra McCarty of Hurdland. Over the past four years, Alana has been involved in Band, Choir, FCCLA, and FFA.
Two words that Alana used to describe herself are "caring and kind." If she could visit anywhere in the world, Alana would go to Los Angeles because she wants to see the famous tourist hot spots. Outside of school, Alana enjoys playing with her dogs and hanging out with her friends. She shared her favorite memory from high school was when she went to state for choir during her freshman year. When asked if she has any advice for upcoming seniors, Alana said, “Keep working hard, even though it's your last year, you have to still try so you can make it to where you want to go.”
Alana's plans after high school are to attend Northwest Missouri State University and major in Education. In five years, she sees herself working as a teacher.
